If you are extremely efficient 30 minutes would be plenty of time to build muscle especially if you are a beginner who is new to the gym.

There are also work out methods you can use to maximize your time over 30 minutes like using:

  1. Supersets
  2. Drop sets
  3. Giant sets
  4. Cluster sets

HIIT Work out although not usually catered towards building muscle are a really great way to get in a good workout and burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time.

IF you only have 30 minutes to workout, I’d recommend sticking with compound movements so that you will be working for multiple muscle groups at the same time. And use the rep ranges between 8–12 reps which are usually optimal for creating hypertrophy.

Thank you!
